The Empire State Strikes Back
Wednesday, June 21, 2006
The Department of Homeland Security cut New York’s funding by 40 percent, and now Congress is holding hearings to find out why. The House Committee Hearings in Washington D.C. today inlcuded testimony by Mayor Michael Bloomberg. He criticized Pork Barrel Spending stating that it appears the easiest way to distribute money from Congressional Bills is to distribute a little to everyone so all the law makers can go home and say they got something. Then he went on to indicate that maybe he should start asking for a portion of the money from the next Agriculture Bill in order to make up for the loss in Homeland Security money!
