For almost a hundred years, The Dramatists Guild of America has worked to promote and protect the professional interests and rights of authors writing for the living stage. It is the only organization in this country established to advance the rights of playwrights, composers, lyricists and librettists.
Guided by an elected Council of working dramatists, the Guild offers a wide variety of services. As a member you will have access to our business affairs department, which provides model contracts and agreements as well as advice in negotiating contracts with theaters, collaborators, publishers and others. You will receive our bi-monthly magazine, The Dramatist, and our annual Resource Directory for all aspects of the theater business nationwide, along with full access to our Website, with links to virtually every theater website in the country, and exclusive access to the wide-ranging symposia and seminars which we sponsor dealing with the art, craft, and business of writing for the stage.
